Erectile dysfunction medicines took in Glengormley

Large quantities of unlicensed medications have been seized by Department of Health authorities throughout a search of a home in Glengormley.

A guy was interviewed by department officers about unlawfully importing and subsequently providing unlicensed impotence medications through the internet.

The 47-year-old was likewise questioned about other medication offenses.

He will now be the subject of a report to the Public Prosecution Service.

The search was by the department's Medicines Regulatory Group.

Its senior enforcement office, Peter Moore, stated: "It is essential that we get the message throughout that unlicensed medicines can be hazardous.

"These types of products being sold, usually online, have gone through no quality control and there can be no warranty about their security.

"You just do not know what you are taking or the conditions these products were made in. More significantly, you do not understand the effect drugs like this might have on your health."
