BEIJING-- The high-performance, low-cost synthetic intelligence model released just recently by Chinese start-up DeepSeek has developed a wave of attention around the world. DeepSeek-R1 appears to use performance that competitors alternatives from the U.S., but the company says it was developed at less than a tenth of the of those models. Chinese technology news portal 36Kr talked to the company's creator, Liang Wenfeng, it-viking.ch in July 2024.
